ANNOUNCEMENT
15 March 2010
Update
As everyone is aware, our office building was struck by a small aircraft mid-morning on Thursday, Feb 18, 2010. Will immediately left the building. Once in the parking lot, he called me (I was teaching a class in San Antonio). On Monday, KVA Management gave us temporary space and furniture in building 2, and AT&T got our phones in service the following day. On Monday morning, March 1 – almost two weeks after the incident – we were allowed escorted access for six hours, we had All My Sons Movers pack the salvageable office “stuff” into our Penske 26’ truck. Each evening that week after class, Will and I sorted through papers, equipment, furniture, and the like until dark. By Sunday, the truck was empty; we had stacks of boxes in our new home, and had filled the dumpster multiple times. KVA allowed us to borrow internet service until Earthlink got us connected on Friday, March 12, 2010 (4 weeks of unpleasant experience). We continue to empty boxes and are amazed by the amount of records that we could salvage. It appears that only student files from 2007 are missing.
Will and I are thankful for the out-pouring of concern, offers of help, and prayers. While we were never out-of-business, we are just now fully functional! Thank you, everyone.
